Filament doesn't go into selecter
Hello,
Filament on position 1 of the MMU2S doesn't go into the selector. Instead, it hits the selector wall and the gears grind the filament until the MMU throws an error. It seems to be an alignment issue. I talked with Prusa chat support and they sent me a new selector and checked the alignment of the gears etc, but the issue persists. Position 2 is a little tight, but the filament goes into the selector while positions 3, 4 and 5 are completely fine.
Has anyone come across this before? Any ideas what could be causing this or a systemic way to go about diagnosing this issue?
Cheers,
Othman
RE: Filament doesn't go into selecter
double check the alignment of the bondtech gears and the input/output ports for position 1
RE: Filament doesn't go into selecter
see if you can figure out if the filament is hitting the top/bottom/left/right side of the selector port
also move the selector with the control buttons and look at the positioning of the selector in relation to the holes in the idler assy
RE: Filament doesn't go into selecter
Hi David,
Thanks a lot for this.
I kind of gave up on doing it the right way and decided to just sahve the selector input hole with a hole puncher and it's worked! These are the same hole punchers we use to shave PTFE tubes to ease the filament insertion.
The hole may have been too tight for the alignement level. From my brief checks, the filament hit the selector wall on the top-right side of the input hole.
Thanks,
Othman

I'm having a similar issue with the MMU position 5. The filament gets jammed short of the bondtech gears and when I finally get through the bondtech gears, the filament will impact the side of the selector. I finally managed to get it to work but I'm just waiting for another failure. Anyone else have similar issues?
