Extruder stutter/ running in reverse
Running latest firmware and Silcer pe version m2.5s non MMU
having an extremely problematic issue where i can run the same g-code 5 times in a row and fail at different points but all failures are getting shorter in between now. initially prints would grind out the filament with excessive retraction at around layer 30-45 on a .35 layer or .20 layer at 20% infill using ABS at 255c in a heated enclosure sitting at 37-42c. now i cannot get beyond layer 2 without the perimeter being perfect and the fist layer being perfect but the solid infill sitting at speckled infill if any at all before the fillament is being ground away. tested on matterhackers ABS, amazon basics ABS and hatchbox ABS. all are having the same issues at similar times.
Have tried setting retraction to .35 instead of .80 with zero change and feeling the hob i am getting about 3/4 a turn up on every retraction and maybe 1/4 down before it goes back another 3/4.
printer also starts stuttering like it is running against the end stops in the center of the print at times
I have adjusted and readjusted the pressure screws multiple times from barely touching to significantly to tight with little to no change. have tried cooling the chamber down to 30-35c with no change either(not cooling more than that i would prefer my exhaust system to catch most of the particulate as this sits about 3 feet from me now)
Re: Extruder stutter/ running in reverse
When I had issues you are describing, my extruder was clogged. No matter of cold-pulling could fix it, so I took it apart and cleaned it up. All my issues went away. I'm pretty new at a lot of this stuff, so I'd wait for someone else to comment before you get the idea to tear into your printer like I did.
