wrong reading from FINDA
I had several multi-material prints interrupted because after some time the FINDA sensor stops working:
the sensor seems fine, it has red light when there's no filament and no light when filament is in, but if I go on support - sensor status, it gives fixed "1" value for FINDA output
I already replaced the FINDA one time, but it didn't change this behavior... seems some bug in the MMU firmware... or some issue in the board....

Yes, it is, sort of.
During a print, the FINDA state only changes during a tool change, and at that time, the printer firmware is waiting for the MMU to complete the change and cannot do anything until that happens. Of course, when the tool change is complete, the FINDA state is the same as before the tool change.
This is one problem with "blocking" function calls 🙁

Yes, it is, sort of.
During a print, the FINDA state only changes during a tool change, and at that time, the printer firmware is waiting for the MMU to complete the change and cannot do anything until that happens. Of course, when the tool change is complete, the FINDA state is the same as before the tool change.

How does the mk3's mmu2s know that filament has reached the extruder if the IR sensor is disabled? What about sensing if filament has run out?
I thought it would all be a lot more intelligent than this.

In fact seems a bug: during the failed load the filament was rinning triugh the FINDA, advancing another 2-3cm in the PTFE hose and then retracting out of the FINDA again (I was able to see teh change inteh LED of the sensor)
If the board cannot receive info from the FINDA because of the "blocking function" during that operation I see the printer has no idea of where the filament actually is...
Another doubt: if FINDA gives "1" I have no idea why it's retracting instead advancing until it gets "1" signal from the IR as well
I hope someone is working on the MMU2 firmware because it seem very buggy.....

Which is why I am still running FW 3.6.0 🙁 Has its faults, but it's working for me. With 3.7, I cannot get filament to load.
Sorry but there's way too much explanation required for the questions asked since my previous post and all that explanation is here in these forums already; I really don't have time to go through it all again.
