soluble supports in MMU 2.0

Can someone tell me how to use soluble supports on the MMU 2.0? I have a filament setup in slic3r, I can get it to use the soluble filament for supports. But how to i get it to only do soluble supports at the interface layer? The video for the MMU 1.0 shows print settings for soluble supports, but nothing in the latest slic3r.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's under "Multiple Extruders" in the Print Settings. Set the Support material/raft/skirt extruder to "0", and the Support material/raft interface extruder to whichever extruder is loaded with your soluble support.

(Yes, this is more obscure than it needs to be.)

Perfect thanks! I also see today there was a config update for slic3r and they have added the soluble print settings back in.

Re: soluble supports in MMU 2.0

Some time in the future I want to start using PVA with my MMU2.
Can I ask which brand of soluble pva did you use?
Did you have to modify the verbatim profile?
How did your print go?
Any issues, concerns?

I have two rolls of primaselect but dont see a profile in Slic3r, only a profile for verbatim pva.

BVOH is the only one I have tested so far.

It worked fine with provided profiles for about 6 hours and then started to string - but it was quite humid at the time. Apparently is can be OK for up to 2 days!

Biggest issue for me has having to keep the BVOH print temp high to make it stick to itself while keeping stringing minimised.

For all solubles: You should cut off the amount you need from the roll and keep the rest sealed.

Re: soluble supports in MMU 2.0

Does anyone know why the Wipe Tower becomes disabled in Slic3r if you select anything other than 0 for "Support material/ raft interface" setting? I'm trying to use soluble supports (PVA) in extruder 5, but as soon as I select it, the Wipe Tower settings are disabled. Why are these two settings mutually exclusive? How is it not going to make a wipe tower with 5 different filaments? Thx.

Re: soluble supports in MMU 2.0

This confused me too.....

Its a separate printer profile.
Under print settings choose:
layer size MK3 SOLUBLE INTERFACE

Then you'll able to choose soluble support for interface layer and assign it a certain extruder.

Ah, gotcha. My Slic3r just updated and now I have those new profiles. Makes sense now. Thanks.

Re: soluble supports in MMU 2.0

I don't have my MMU2 quite yet for the i3 MK3... but I have some eSUN PVA that I plan to try.
I hope it doesn't string like crazy.

I live in an area that's generally humid as hell, so I'm going to try and make a dry box for it.

cheers

Re: soluble supports in MMU 2.0

I also don't have my MMU 2 yet (hoping it arrives in a couple of weeks if the shipping schedule is still valid).

I was wondering whether it was feasible to run any manual filament unload tests prior to receiving the MMU to try determine whether filament stocks like PVA already held are likely to work without too much unload stringing etc?
