Slow down first layer of wipe tower?

Working through some bed adhesion with my mk 2.5 and mmu 2, the easiest solution is always slowing down the first layer.

This works flawlessly for the printed part itself, but the wipe tower ignores the setting.

Any way to slow that bad boy down? filament fails to stick to the bed and causes nothing but heartache.

hoping there's a quick tweak, but not finding anything other than the size and location of the thing.

It's printing pretty slow for me. Are you sure it disregards your speed setting? Maybe you can post your gcode/settings here.

Apologies for the late reply - a few life things got in the way. Thanks for taking time to respond to my issue here.

Yes, the speeds are definitely mismatched. I understand that this may not be something that can be changed though, as it's doing the purge/filament swap procedure and uses its own speeds to do exactly that.

Here is a simple "Om-Nom" ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2512972 *Credit to cipis) that was sliced and as an example I threw the first layer speed down to 10%. (Print Settings --> Speed --> Modifiers --> First Layer Speed = 10%). The machine starts the purge tower first, at normal speeds. Gives it an outline, then proceeds over to the model where it immediately slows down to the configured 10%. On each color change for that first layer, it returns back to the purge block and runs its normal speed (not the slowed down setting that I'd like it to do).

TLDR: Model is slowed down to 10% on the first layer, the purge block/wipe tower is always set to the original speed.

Did you ever get an answer for this? I am having the same issue as well.

No sir - it's still acting as described.

I still haven't been able to use the MMU at all successfully up to this point. The free time I've had to mess around has been spent on printing these with my other printer:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3252111

They work very well - just take forever to print especially since there's x5 needed. Once they're done I'll try a couple more multi color prints and see what mood the thing puts me in.

Re: Slow down first layer of wipe tower?

I loaded the zerobeast firmware, and had more success than I did with the prusa firmware...

problem with the prusa firmware is that I can't get into the service menu to adjust the filament feed lengths, (Awaiting replacement MMU controller)

I adjusted the bowden to better match the feed lengths, but I cn only have one bowden length and there are five filament lengths... so it's always guesstimation and compromise

oddly the zerobeast firmware let me in tot he service menu...

Anyone ever find a solution? The purge tower first layer is terrible and doesn’t stick
