PVA from ROSA3D, can't get correct shape of the tip

Hi,

I'm struggling with lots of MMU2s error due to incorrect tip of filament made by ROSA3D and it is PVA soluble filament. I think i've tried almost everything and the problem is that the tip has lonf stringing at the end ( like 15 mm long ).

I've tried:

UNLOAD SPEED - UNLOAD MOVES - Filament TEMP:

  • 30 - 1 - 205
  • 30 - 2 - 205
  • 30 - 3 - 205
  • 40 - 1 - 205
  • 40 - 2 - 205
  • 40 - 3 - 205
  • 50 - 1  - 205
  • 50 - 2 - 205
  • 120 - 1- 205
  • 120 - 2 -205
  • 140 - 1 - 205
  • 140 - 2 - 205

Also tried with lover temp but it doesn't stick to PLA so the lovest temp to try is 205, if bigger then stringing is longer.

Do you have any idea what to do ? PVA is dried in my sunlu dry box and has about 4% hygro. All ideas are welcome. Maybe you have some other profiles, PrimaSelect profile doesn't works for me at all.

Lower the temp and speed

I use Matter Hackers PVA and it will start stringing on the filament end and causing load failures above 195 nozzle temp. If you are having trouble getting the PVA to stick at lower temps then slow down the print speed for your support material.  I have been getting good results with full soluble supports running at 195 nozzle temp with 10 mm/sec print speed for support material and support interface and seeing very few load failures.

Good idea

Thanks, Rick

I think I was too frustrated to think about the lower speed at the interface, will check for sure. I'll post the results of my tips 🙂
