Customer service told me:

the MMU2.0 should start shipping soon, new orders including this product may ship in Autumn

there will be a newsletter and an update article in the Blog with all details about this once the distribution will start, then more details on production and delays will be published at http://help.prusa3d.com/shippingtable .

I ordered on April, the second day it was open for order but I was surprised that mine was a NEW ORDER. She said those who pre-ordered on October are the first one. Whaaaat?! This is crazy.

I've had mine on order and paid since January, so I'd hope newer orders would ship after I get mine! There's no sense in obsessing over specific dates. We know from history that they are behind, but seem to have caught up -- or at least improved -- on the printer orders. The MMU2 process will no doubt be the same.

I ordered the MMUv1 upgrade in October,

Prusa decided not to continue development on the MMUv1, I guess because it was very fussy on filament specification.

so they moved us over to the MMUv2 product line, and we have been waiting a while...

no point getting upset.

there are two basic options, wait, or request a refund, neither will speed up delivery,

refund might give you short term comfort... but if you then re order... you will be at the back of the list again...

Well, if you take what the order page says at face value:
Available to preorder! Shipping starts in late July (beta testers only) and August 2018, new orders in November 2018!
then we won't know if they met the deadline or not, since I assume the beta testers are under NDA.

In any event, I'd rather have them take their time and work the bugs out. But it still would have been nice to be invited to the beta.

Like Joan, I pre-ordered back in October when it was called the "MMU MK2 to MK3 upgrade" (or something like that) and was planned to just be a small number of parts to make the MMU1 work on the MK3. It wasn't until around April when they announced the MMU2 and started taking pre-orders for it.

Even if beta units are shipping now, I'm guessing late August at the soonest for shipping release units, and that's assuming the beta testers don't find any big problems.

I asked a couple weeks ago if I could be a beta tester but they said they had already been chosen. 🙁

I'm sure that beta testing is holding up shipping. When you really look at what goes into the MMU V2 there isn't really anything that's special; a few steppers, some leadscrews, hobbed pulleys and idlers... etc. Prusa said that parts wouldn't really be on constraint so it's gotta be dialing in the firmware and testing that's causing a delay.

I was told yesterday that the shipping is being held up by testing. They are now saying the end of August.

That's right, blame the testers!

MMU V1 beta testing took around 8 months (there was no NDA) and the testers (including myself) put in hundreds of hours work (unpaid) to try to get the best outcome possible.

I would guess MMU2 testing will uncover some unexpected issues and I wouldn't be surprised if it takes longer than anticipated, but at the end of the day we will all benefit.

I realized that I may have come off as not appreciative of the beta testers, that's not the case. I sincerely appreciate all of the volunteer time the testers put into squashing bugs instead of Prusa taking the route that other manufacturers take; using their customers as beta testers.

The shipping page has just been updated. The new page reads:
Multi Material upgrades v2 and MK3 ordered together with redesigned Multi Material upgrades - we aim to start shipping at the back half of August 2018 (after beta testing phase), a majority in September and October, new MMU for MK3 orders in November/December 2018.
