MMU Moves to select new filament with last still loaded.

Hi All,

I am struggling to get my MMU working correctly and I have followed all the set-up, tweaking and read a lot on this forum about ideas and tips etc but still no joy.

The part that is really annoying is that it often trys to change filament say F1 -> F5 with F1 still loaded and the MMU filament sensor still detecting the filament (Light Off)

Any ideas...

And NO after spending money on this I am not removing it and throwing it away, Prusa will get there in the end and I have seen enough good prints to know this does work it's just a bitch to set-up correctly.

Ta.

It's likely due to long and thick string at the tip of the filament. The FINDA didn't detect it but the end of the filament was still in the PTFE tube.

Make sure the tip is a well formed bulb with no stringing (to be honest , I am still struggling to get a good tip. Some filaments work some just don't). You can also try to lower down the FINDA probe a little bit to make it more sensitive .

Thanks for the reply however it's not that as the filament is still fully loaded all the way to the HotEnd when this happens it's as if the FINDA isn't detecting but the Light is off so clearly it is... This seems more like a Code/Sensor issue.
