MMU 2.0 Alternate Mounting Question
I'm already planning my enclosure design for the MK3 and MMU 2.0 and was hoping that Josef or one if his team will chime in on this. Referencing the video interview between Josef and Joel the 3D Printing Nerd at the Bay Area Maker Faire.
Can the MMU 2.0 unit function fine upside down? I envision installing the MK3 in an enclosure with a separate space above the printer like so many other enclosures.
I would take the MMU 2.0 unit and mount it between the two, but upside down with the single supply tube facing downward and the five input tubs facing up towards the spools.
Would this design work ok or is the unit designed NOT to be upside down?
Re: MMU 2.0 Alternate Mounting Question
We got the same intention. But I'm sure we have to redesign and reprint some parts because there are also buttons and LEDs on the front and I'm sure you want them on the "top" as I do.
Hopefully, we can optimize the unit for flexible filaments on the same go. (I need my PVA 😉 )
Re: MMU 2.0 Alternate Mounting Question
My only concern with mounting it upside down is that it cuts filament sometimes that is supposed to drop into a tray. It can't do that while upsides down, so the clippings may get in the way of the filament cutter.

You're right, I forgot about that?
