Hi Guys,

I have been using Prusa MK2S MMU1 for more than a year now.
I ordered the MK2.5 upgrade together with the MMU2 package a year ago like most of you.
Reading through the issues and experiencing the same more-than-1-year-long waiting time I lost a bit of a patience.
I am at a point where not to wait any longer but start the MK2.5 upgare reassembly.

Does anybody did the upgrade from MK2S MMU1 to MK2.5 without the MMU2 feature?
Does it work? Any hassles, issues? Or do you rather recommend to hold on and wait for the MMU2 for MK2.5 to be out?

If you upgrade to MK2.5 you need to flash your firmware and you MAY not be able to use your MMU1. But if you’re going to use MK2.5 alone, it should be ok. Better check with customer support. My MK2.5 worked seamlessly until now using the latest firmware version.

The only problem I have is the MMU2.0.

If you need MMU1, I advice to hold your upgrade. Better consult customer support.

No FW for the MK2.5...it seems that we are the Beta tester for the MK2.5 !!!! I I thought it was already done....2 or 3 or 4 or ? week to wait before release?

Prusa definitely knew, they were just hoping to have it ready before it got to your door.... or not. they just wanted them out the door to prevent more "delays". I got a pallete 2 instead, it cost more but works on any machine, should be quicker (no retraction, switch filament, then reload) and i can splice all my end of spool ends together to make one big one. plus i'll have it before mk2.5 on MMU works probably so i can do my x-mas orders....

I really lost my patience waiting. I see no hope on MK2.5-MMU2.0 firmware and might take months so I ordered Mosaic Palette 2 thirty minutes ago. I will just send my project for 3rd party printing services tomorrow. The rest of my projects will be on the Palette.

This MK2.5-MMU2.0 issue should have prevented if they only tested it prior to marketing.

Hi Jo,
it won't take months, we are in the final stage of the testing. It takes more time to tweak the MMU2 for the MK2.5 due to the different board (RAMBo 13a/10a).

I agree , must Printer sold were the MK2 and MK2s , so the MMU2 should have first priority to MK2 series, after all a few of us ordered the MMU1 and was transferred to MMU2 . Which was nice of Prusa to upgrade Units and being concerned about its customers .. Do I want it rushed no , but I want it right - Yes

MMU2.0 running stealth mode on MK2.5? Will it affect the overall speed? Anyway, better than nothing.

I was just browsing the source code. I haven't tried compiling any of their source code and just relying on their .hex file which is currently not available. I want to try compiling but Im so busy this week and following week sourcing for 3rd part 3d printing services for my project. My one and only option right now is to have my project printed by 3rd party since Prusa could not release the firmware this week.

As per customer support, they will release next week.
