How does the MMU effect print quality?

???

It will allow you to print with 5 different spools of filament at once. This will allow you to use different materials for supports or printing with multiple color filaments. Some say the print quality would be more appealing and others don't see the benefit.

If that didn't answer your question could you elaborate a bit more?

The extruded changes from a Bowden. I was concerned this might lower the print quality. I am considering a purchase.

No, there's no Bowden; Mk3 + MMU2 is direct drive.

The extruder is not a Bowden. It's the latest updated version of the same Mk3 direct drive extruder. Think of it as a machine above the extruder helping swap around filament when needed, but that extra machine gets out of the way when printing is happening.

Possible slight additional drag due to the filament being further away, or the tubes, but that friction is expected to be minimal relative to the extruder grip available.

Generally I would not expect any lowering of print quality when doing single filament prints.

I haven't noticed any meaningful change in print quality, except for cases where the MMU misfires and doesn't load a filament properly.

Like the rest of the guys here said, as long as the mmu doesnt jam or skip a layer because of stringing - print quality is perfect. As good as the mk3 alone.
Matter of fact single filament prints you won't even be able to tell.

Prusa MK3 preassembled (R2/B6) > (R3/B/7)
Prusa MK2.5 kit > MK3 > MK3+MMU2 (R3/B/7) 😀
Prusa SL1 3D printer + Curing and Washing Machine (day1 order)
