Cold pull nozzle clean with MMU2?
Has anyone tried seeing if its possible to automate a cold pull with the MMU2? Set temp to 210, load PLA, extrude while cooling to 175, stop extruding, cool to 80, pull with both extruder and MMU2?

I haven't needed to do a CP since getting my MMU working, but when I do I will just disconnect the PTFE at the extruder and perform the process like I always have. Trying to go through the MMU just seems like it is asking to mess something up and cause a jam.

Sure, it is almost entirely a waste of time to figure out 🙂 I thought it would be neat if the printer could do it on its own to clear a jam or something. I might see if I can write the G-Code for it and see what happens. What's the worst that could happen, right?

I wouldn't say a waste of time as I would agree that it could be kind of cool.

Your cooperative MMU stops being cooperative and you have to go through the "getting it working" pain all over again 😉 😀

Ha! You're being tame then. While fighting with mine I started contemplating how to daisy chain MMUs together. The idea being that each tool would be fed by another MMU. So at the first level you'd have 25 filaments, then you could add another layer to go to 125 filaments, etc...
As if dealing with one upset MMU isn't enough trouble... 😀

I think if you were going to spend 1,800 on 6 MMU2's there is probably an easier way to get that many colors. There's that neat hot end that actively mixes filaments with primary colors to calculated ratios to get whatever color you want.

Yeah it's not really practical. Even beyond the money, the space that would be required would get nuts fast between the MMUs and filament spools. It would not require a new hot end, significant (if any) printer firmware changes (just support for sending more tool IDs, but then you'd make the MMU hardware figure out where it goes from there), or slicer changes (would just be adding more "extruders" to the profile) though.
