Random blobs and prints crashing
Hi Everyone!
I'm having quite the hard time with my printer, it's having the occasional shift, but that seems to happen only rarely.
However I continue to have a lot of little blobs and crashes because of the blobs.
Where should I start looking to fix this, I tried so many thinks that I thought should help.
I tried printing via Octoprint but now I use SD card printing again because via USB Octoprint it was not better at all, maybe even worse.
Kind Regards,
Sovjet
Have you changed your nozzle recently?
Please show us your nozzle/hotend assembly from two different angles - let's see where they're coming from.
Cheerio,
RE: Random blobs and prints crashing
This nozzle has been there for a month of 6, I then printed 2 months with it (not everyday, occasionally and no problems) and then I didn't use my printer for 4 months, until last week that is.
I use the The Olsson Ruby nozzle. There is a small piece of PLA (Prusa) on the outside, that occured because of the last crash I had. When I restart it would be gone because of the line test at the beginning.
I also made several pictures as requested, I hope I understood you correctly 🙂
The last two pictures do show what could be melted filament running down the outside from the top of the heater block. Investigate. If this turns out to be true then the usual cause is an incorrectly installed nozzle but if yours has been untouched then possibly a face-scratch or other imperfection is eroding out...
Pay particular attention to the diagrams at the bottom of this page:

Cheerio,
RE: Random blobs and prints crashing
I see, that would make perfect sense, especially concerning my problems at this moment.
Very soon I will check the whole printer and report back 🙂
RE: Random blobs and prints crashing
So a little status update as promised, I got some stuck filament from the PTFE tube, the hotend and the heatbreak, it was quite the mess.
Cleaned all, put the whole thing together again and it's printing now.
It has been an hour and a half and I haven't seen a blob yet. So still fingers crossed but before blobs would occur after a matter of 15 minutes or so.
Many thanks thusfar @diem!
