MMU2S: how to operate the new filament buffer?
I'm looking for a convenient method to load filament into the buffer and towards the MMU2 unit.
When feeding it from one side, the filament doesn't always pop out on the other side and I can't easily pass it from the left to the right when feeding more than 40cm of filament.
When I finally got the filament and fiddled it into the other tube attached to the buffer, there is about 2-3cm (1 inch) of room to feed the filament into the long tube towards the MMU2 unit, so you can push the filament in only in small increments.
Any tips to make life easier?
Re: MMU2S: how to operate the new filament buffer?
I am also interested in a solution to this. Making sure about a foot of the filament is straight before helps but inching your way to the mmu is a pain. I'm considering using my old mk3 extruder parts for a cordless drill attachment.
RE: MMU2S: how to operate the new filament buffer?
I found a nice trick !
The initial problem : In my case, when I try to put filament in one of the entry, it loops and go back on the other side (as you can see in the picture).
Solution : Do like the picture of the problem, but put much mroe filament ! Then, just take the end of the filament and push it back in the buffer. It will pop on an other place of the buffer. Do it again until you are on the right place !
Sorry for the pictures ...i'm so bad for making schematics
RE: MMU2S: how to operate the new filament buffer?
Yes, exactly this technique worked for me, too.
With this technique the filament goes quickly to the right output, but feeding the buffer still doesn't feel optimal to me.
I definitely need more space to push the filament upwards. Maybe a mod with detachable roofs would be useful?
