How do I re-index the selector after a failed filament load?

During a print, a filament did not retract all the way, and the selector motor lost a couple of steps. I'm pretty sure I know why (what I did wrong) but the problem is that the next filament was not aligned to the selector and began pushing out to the side. I was able to stop it and was ready to reload and continue the print. HOWEVER, the selector was no longer properly indexed and the lead screw is locked down. Realigning manually is pretty much a no go. Is there a way to re-index the selector once a load jam is cleared? And what about the idler for that matter? Can it be re-homed as well?

next filament load that goes bad, I might just try hitting MMU reset. but it wont be on a good print.

ive had that happen a few times I know what you mean. at least ive been able to salvage prints that haven't moved the selector.

maybe wait till the MMU moves the print head out of the way before trying mmu reset. (things to think about)

I have a Prusa,therefore I research.

I just got a chance to try it. if it jams on filament 1 you might be in luck.
