Re: yet another powder coated steel sheet
Looks like these are becoming mainstream. It'll be interesting to see how durability and quality compare. I'm close enough now in Prusa's list that I'm not tempted at that price. Interesting that Prusa is keeping the price down significantly lower than these competitors, although shipping costs even it out most places in the world.

There is absolutely a market. I have seen two PRusa PC sheets on ebay fro north of 200 and I sold and extra one for $150.

If you’re close I’d say hold out. I have the kinng r2, r3 and the Prusa sheet and find the Prusa sheet to be superior to both.

Doesn't look very aesthetically pleasing, at least not to my eye. 😮

does it really matter if it ships on time

Yes.

I do not necessarily agree with V3. V3 of the thekkiinngg is pretty close to prusa as far as print results. I have about 60 prints on it and it is durable.

Depends on what you mean by comparable... If your primary concern is adhesion, yes they're comparable but then if that's your main concern the Prusa smooth PEI is as good or better than both... Both of my Prusa sheets, smooth PEI and PC, are flat and I get excellent first layers, I'm not so lucky with TheKinng's sheet. If you're talking about texture, see attached image and make your own decision. Center piece is from the Prusa plate outside pieces are from TheKinnng V3 sheet.

You might be right. I have had good luck with my King sheet. Even the, 4.99 reject off ebay has given me good adhesion and first layers.
I will try the Matterhackers next after V4 of the King.

Trust me I'd love to be able to purchase a sheet similar to Prusa's and really hoped thekiinnngs sheet would be it, I purchased the V2 sheet very early on and find the texture it leaves to be very nice but first layer uniformity and adhesion are mediocre though I've yet to have any issues with the coating. I hoped the V3 sheet would improve on the shortcomings of the V2 sheet so I purchased it and was sorely disappointed with first layer uniformity and the texture. I have to say Prusa nailed the Powder Coated sheet, it's a perfect fit and feels solid, both TheKinnngs sheets sit a bit cocked on my bed and are flimsy. I'm not sure what process they use to cut the sheets but it could use some improvement.
I kind of wonder if the MatterHackers sheet is just a rebranded Kiinng sheet... Also, I read on Discord that All3dmakers is working on a textured sheet as well.
Re: yet another powder coated steel sheet
The matterhackers is clearly a different design. It may be made by TheKing, but it is a different shaped sheet.

Theeeeekiiiiiinnnnnnnnggggg just released a V4 sheet that looks like the Matterhackers one.
Re: yet another powder coated steel sheet
I have two V3 TheKKIINNGGSS and a Prusa PC sheet. I find that once a minor live z adjustment is input, I do not see a dramatic difference between the sheets with prints... Maybe I was fortunate and got two excellent V3 theKKIINNGGSS, but I cannot notice a difference between prints on all three.
With that said, the Prusa PC sheet is thicker and heavier, which may provide additional thermal mass on the build plate and just feels more solid and is clearly my favorite, - as it is the original. I cannot wait until Prusa makes them available for general sale as it really is a leap in print bed technology and is very helpful for new or inexperienced 3d printer users. I had great experience with mine and see lots of posts from new users to the same effect. It seems like more experienced users who may have come from other 3d printers or have experience with other beds are the ones with issues on the PC sheet. Probably because they are already used to other procedures for those other sheets - just my observations.
I wonder if the issues with the powder coated sheets relate to Prusa having the writing and grid on its version and not the actual powder coating of the sheet. e.g. it is the addition of the silk screening grid and text that are causing the issues with production. All the alternative versions I have seen do not have the grid or writing on them and seem to work ok. Prusa seems to have made the decision to get it right and selling the sheets with the grid and writing and not cut corners. I respect that and am also glad other producers are making and selling similar items so people get to experience the PC sheet. I hope Prusa gets it solved soon and offers their sheet for sale to the public... I know I will buy more than one!

I have a similar finding even with the defective sheets.
I have 1-V2, 3-V3, and I have order V4. I will compare each to Prusa and Matterhackers in an upcoming thread. Heck, I might do a video.

A video comparison would be pretty cool! I look forward to your comparison, they are educational and informative...

I will work on it this week and I may have a print surface shoot out.

Re: yet another powder coated steel sheet
So speaking of the Powder Coated Sheets.
I know currently the kits are not coming with the Powder Coated sheet, only the Smooth is available.
But I read some place (can't find it for the life of me now) something about vouchers or getting
put on a list to get one at a later date?
Could (if possible) someone bring me up to speed on this or point me to this info?
I ordered a Mk3S kit last weekend (16th) and I expect (I hope) it ships this week sometime.

The vouchers are only for those that ordered before a date in March 2018 and before.
