Which enclosure to buy?

I've just ordered my first printer -- an MK3S+ kit -- and I was hoping for some advice about enclosures. The lack seems a bit too flammable for my setup; aside from that, my main concerns are (1) air quality (planning to install an exhaust fan with a HEPA/carbon filter), and (2) not overheating the PSU (I'd prefer not to move it outside the enclosure if possible, and I'm not likely to be printing much ABS). I've come across these four, each of which looks like a decent option, but I'm curious to hear feedback from anyone who's owned one:

https://www.printer-box.com/product/prusa-box-enclosure-reduce-wraping/

https://www.printedsolid.com/collections/enclosures/products/next-gen-safety-enclosure-for-prusa-style-printers

https://www.tukkari.com/p/tlx-white-prusa-i3-mk2-mk3-enclosure

https://www.3dupfitters.com/products/prusa-acrylic-enclosure-kit

Any feedback would be much appreciated, and I'm open to alternative suggestions as well. Thanks in advance!

RE: Which enclosure to buy?

I can’t comment on any of these options as I have LACK enclosures for all my printers but I don’t see why they are more of a fire hazard than the other options. I have printed ABS, PETG, and PC Blend, and the temp has never risen above 37 degrees, which I don’t think should affect the PSU (I keep it inside).

I actually looked at the PrintedSolid enclosure and liked it but  I guess I went with the LACK enclosure because there are so many mods for it on Prusaprinters (including ventilation options) (and admittedly it is just fun to build them).  As far as the price is concerned, these prefab enclosures look more expensive but I found the LACK to be actually not hugely cheaper if you factor in everything. For my next one I may consider the PrintedSolid enclosure.

I have a Makergadgets enclosure.  You can find them on facebook, or on their .org (the .com is a for sale scammer camp).  I like it enough that I bought another one to send to my engineer daughter.  I think I was order # 6, then 8, and I ordered a temp control vent - so I can claim #9 as well.  I think the enclosure is nice - HEPA filter, Active carbon, Sealed unit - great for hi-temp builds where you want to filter the fumes.  The new temp control is something I am working on adapting to my shop exhaust-outside 4 inch system - and then I'll be able to print anything without killing the dog.

I really like the Prusa Box.  It is unclear what the price gets you.

I just finished building my Prusa Box and I'm pretty pleased with it. The kit comes with the stainless frame, plastic for the doors, and hardware. You download stls and print the parts.

The screen mount is my design. It comes with STLs for a 3.5" screen.

I wish it didn’t have that huge in-your-face Prusa Box logo in the front 😬

Did you have to extend any cables?

Thanks.  I will buy one soon.  Count this as a sale you made.

That is a thing of beauty!  Just wow.  I finished assembling my 3+ (bought the kit instead of assembled to learn how it all goes together).

I was going to build a lack for the same reason, but I do really love this enclosure!

Thanks!

I have the 3d Upfitters box and am very happy with it. The temperature display is my own, not the one that comes as an option to the box.

I did a review of it in the user mods section a while ago.

I've got two of these

https://boxomoenclosures.com/

Been pretty happy.  I paid 30 dollars and got the plans+models and printed some of the parts in different colors.

RE: Which enclosure to buy?

Of all the ones I've seen I really dig the looks of this one the most. Alas, two issues I have with it.

A. The front panel looks like one panel. I like that the LACK enclosure has two panels in the front. When printing PLA I usually leave it open, and with the one panel approach I'd always have a large piece of plexiglas in my way.

B. The price. What I see on their website is $339, not $30. Hey, for $30, damn the front panel, of course I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But $339? That's the price of any of my Minis...

@fuchsr

The $30 is for the plans to build it.   This includes the models to print the pieces and dxf files for getting the plexi cut.   I ordered whole thing for 300'ish.  There was a deal at the time.  I ordered the second one like a month ago for the new printer.  the second one has the mmu pass through holes.  I paid the $30 extra to get the plans so I could print the parts in different colors.  For me it was easier than building the Lack enclosure.
