Simple Infidel interface (Work In Progress)

Recently I completed an interface to the Infidel filament diameter sensor. It isn't intended to compensate the extruder filament feed, but just summarizes an average (and standard deviation) filament width at the end of a print job. It uses an Arduino Nano to read the values from the Infidel and displays the statistics on an LCD-display. Currently it is started and stopped by buttons, but control from an OctoPrint plugin seems possible too, but is not completely implemented.

Greetings,

Fred Jan

Inertia worries..

The mass of the extruder body is going to be nearly doubled with that contraption.  Have you tried any long (nearly bed wide) horizontal prints with that thing mounted?  Does it wobble under heavy acceleration?  Does it cause layer shifts?

Topic starter answered:

With the extruder body also containing a stepper motor, I don't think the weight is doubled. The Infidel weight just 36 grams. No observable wobble or layer shifts.
