Overhaul Inbound!!!

OK, so I have been looking into adding as many mods to this thing as I see fit while trying to keep a semi stock appearance. currently the only thing I have done is added the RPI zero and a few hotend related things (not really mods, but I added a sock and a nozzle x.). I have plans to add a better tensioner to the x and y axis and maybe change the rods. I have not had any isues with the current rods but I like the look of these ceramic coated ones from PBC linear. I need to modify the idler housing and motor mount on the x axis to allow for FMAC08 bearings from PBC, as well as integrate the new tensioner. as far as the y axis tho, I have the tensioner taken care of but I am wondering what the best way to go is for mounting the FMAC08 bearings? a few thins to consider is that the nominal OD is actually larger at 15.95mm compared to the LM8UU's 15mm. as the mounts are already a snug fit I suspect I will have to use some other way to mount. I also plan to do that winstar OLED upgrade to this machine to give it a bit fancier look.

I would like to hear any suggestions on how I should go about my y axis issue as well as mods that are worth doing (aside from bear or any major aesthetic changes.)

P.S. this is the link to the PBC page with their bearings: https://www.pbclinear.com/Products/Round-Shaft-Technology/Simplicity-Linear-Plain-Bearings/FMA-Metric-Closed-Self-Aligning-Compensated

Re: Overhaul Inbound!!!

First bit of advice would be to ditch the PiZero and get a 3B+.....

I would try to concentrate on mods that have the potential to improve quality without the need to change stuff that works. For Rods and Bearings, I would thus try not to change sizes but simply quality with stuff from Misumi. For appearance I would simply print the printed parts from fancier filaments or spray paint the frame.
