I have OctoPrint running on my RPi3 hooked up via USB but printing from SD card. For this setup all those features are still operational. I'm assuming your question is about printing from Octoprint. In that case, I do not know the answer since I do not use it that way.

Thanks for the quick response.
So basically you're just using Octoprint to send the files to your SD card in your MK3 via WiFi? You're not using Octoprint for time-laps or anything.

I haven't tried copying to the SD card via octoprint. No idea that was a feature. 🙂 Will give it a try so I do not need to walk from a room to the other to plug the SD into the mac mini. Thanks for that info.

I use Octoprint to monitor temperature (and see if PID calibration is needed). I sometimes use it to set temperatures or to move axis. I use it mainly to monitor the print while I'm away. I also record timelapses. And one of the most awesome and useful feature is bed level visualizer plugin. There is one developed by a member of this community and one developed by someone else in the Octoprint community. I used only the one of this community.

I use Octoprint through USB and have found the filament sensor and the crash detection work. I have had no experience yet with the power panic.

If you use Slic3r - Prusa Edition you can send files right to the SD card in your printer. Once you setup Octoprint under "Printer Settings" (IP and API Key) you'll have a new button labeled "Send to printer".

Great thanks! That's kind of what I thought. Power Panic will not work, but according to manual, Prusa are working with Octoprint on a fix.

I did have trouble with making a color change, but it may have been my fault. Going to try it again soon.

I ran a couple "color change" prints today and they worked fine. I used Prusa control to slice the models and sent them to my "watched" folder. I ran the prints from Octoprint. They machine paused at the expected layer and prompted for a new color. Works great!
