Non-enclosure enclosure????

I don't really care about having an enclosure since I currently print exclusively with PLA and will probably never get into ABS printing. However, I'm looking for a good table or desk that will be a convenient place to put my MK3. Right now I have it setup on a coffee table with my tools next to it, but of course I will need to find an alternative soon. Does anyone have recommendations for a sturdy but cheap setup?

Re: Non-enclosure enclosure????

actually, just get ONE of the ikea lack tables mentioned in their enclosure video, it cheap, sturdy, and if you ever do get into abs or need an enclosure then just buy a second one. as far as storage goes, I am printing some drawers that go under the table and screw to the bottom.

P.S. they come in Black, White, And I think a wood grain so it pretty good fit for most uses 🙂

Re: Non-enclosure enclosure????

As posted above, just get 2 lack tables, make sure you get some L brackets or just print some to strengthen the legs as they are not as solid as you think, discard the legs of the second table, and screw the table top of the 2nd table to the bottom of the first table, this will give you some extra storage below the printer, and make the table more sold, then print 4 table foot stabilisers from link below, I used infill of 50 to make them solid using PETG, this will make a solid table and give you storage space.

I do not understand why people are using wooden enclosures, surely this ramps up the fire risk massively ?
A much better idea would be to use a metal enclosure, if it catches on fire it can only burn with in the metal box ?
