Lack enclosure v2 without MMU2 & needing extra height
I'm mostly done with my Lack enclosure. I built it according to the V2 specs despite not having a MMU2, as I might get one here somewhat soon. I'd rather build it once than rebuild it later.
My only issue is filiment feeding. The MMU2 wants to be fed throught the holes in the back where the normal i3 feeds from the top. There are a ton of feed holes & slots on Thingaverse or Prusaprinters, but they are all for a full thickness table. I have that divot in mine so it's only a few mm thick there instead of a few cm thick. I haven't seen any feed holes or slot models out there that fit this scenario. Anybody have any good models or ideas? I could always just drill a hole & run that without a grommet, but that's ugly. I might be able to design my own, but that's probably 8 hours of work with my current CAD skills.
Also, the printer being knee high is annoyingly short. Any good ideas for a wider more stable table to put it on? I could stick another Lack table under it, but that gets a bit spindly. I was thinking about putting 2 tables side by side under it to give me a shelf off to the side & some extra height for the printer. If I went that route I'd probably get 4 tables & put table tops underneath for extra solidity. But was wondering if anybody had another wider table or something that they had used successfully already.

Think about Ikea Stuva.
You can buy diferrent sizes of the body.
If you want to put the printer as in the picutre you will have to tack the "back plate" rather than inserting it in the slot.
Also I think you will have to change the heatbed cable cap to something shorter. (you'll find something on thingiverse)
RE: Lack enclosure v2 without MMU2 & needing extra height
For making the lack enclosure taller, check out the rest of the Lack line at Ikea. They have two Lack coffee tables. The smaller of the two ($30USD) is the same depth (55cm) as the lack tables but isn't wide enough for two Lack enclosures (should you want to have room for later expansion). But if you don't plan on expansion, it does give extra 40cm width to have a ledge on either side or smaller ledges on both sides. The larger of the two ($50USD) is more than wide enough for two Lack enclosures side by side (118cm > 55cm * 2), and is slightly deeper than the Lack enclosure (78cm > 55cm) for a ledge in front, behind, or split front and back.
Both coffee tables have a small full-size shelf under the table top for additional storage, and will raise the enclosure 45cm (17.75"). If I were to do this I would adapt the printed pieces that join the two Lack tables in the enclosure plans to join the Lack enclosure to the coffee table to keep the enclosure from sliding around on the coffee table.

RE: Lack enclosure v2 without MMU2 & needing extra height
The only problem with the build is neither me nor the wife likes the build platform knee high, we want it counter high. I also want something off to the side to set junk on. I don't have any problems with the internal enclosure volume. Easy enough to resolve that putting it up ontop of something, I just need to figure out what.
The enclosure part of the build & some extras is mostly complete. I just need some rods for the spool holders so I can detach the original spool holder & close the lid. Snow the past few days has kept me from foraging up & cutting some rod up in my shop. May or may not bother putting the front doors on for the foreseeable future. I haven’t gotten the magnets yet & don't want to unmount the power supply yet & don't print ABS.
Some notes to self on options I've seen as much as anything while I've been poking at dimensions of stuff on Ikea's webpage:
- Put 1 more Lack table underneath & 1 off to the side. Cons: Extra table legs & decreases in stability.
- Put 1 more Lack table underneath & 1 off to the side, put an extra table top under each of the new tables to help stiffen things up a bit. Cons: Still might not be as stiff as I'd like given the lightness of the Lack tables. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/tingby-side-table-on-casters-white-20295925/&source=gmail&ust=1586886733291000&usg=AFQjCNGdqCVgEgZjtGhd28m7OHNRSQiHR Q"> https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/tingby-side-table-on-casters-white-20295925/ may be a viable alternative (some are TINGBY are a bit smaller & some are a bit bigger than the Lack tables), although is a few inches wider & deeper than the Lack. Color issues, but should hopefully be a bit stiffer. Would be more mobile if I left the wheels on. 2 of those wouldn’t be cheaper than 4 lack tables though.
- Put a Lack coffee table https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/lack-coffee-table-black-brown-40104294/&source=gmail&ust=1586886733291000&usg=AFQjCNHjtlV5TmCcdUyCkc6TfmMkjD2Nr g"> https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/lack-coffee-table-black-brown-40104294/ underneath. Cons: Unknown stiffness compared to existing Lack tables. Only comes in brown or white or wood, which doesn't match my existing black enclosure build.

Doesn't particularly match the Lack tables in design & same color issues as Lack coffee tables. It's solid wood so probably more sturdy although more expensive.
