Lack Enclosure - Black PSU - Options

Hi, New 3D Printer user here 🙂 - Opted for the i3 MK3S and what a piece of kit

I am building the LACK enclosure to keep the Mrs Happy given where my printer is installed and whilst I am slowly printing the required components for the frame - I've got to the PSU mount.  Having searched various sites there appears to be 101 different ways of mounting the Black PSU on the leg, or mounted horizontally underneath the table - I've even seen a grommet (my terminology for a tube) that pushes the power cables through the base table to the PSU.

What is the recommended method / best method to mount?

What have you done? Photos? Link to Prints?

Not a direct answer to your question, but… I never relocated it. Left it on my printers. They've been printing for years, just fine. Unless you intend to print a lot of high temperature filaments such as ABS or ASA. I do it occasionally but not for days on end, and haven't had an issue.

Many thanks for the comment ... It is unlikely I'll get to ABS soon but likely to do so in the future to make some parts for a bike so wanted good strength and UV/Weather cover.  Realistically what temp should we be safe running the PSU at? Is there a recommended value somewhere?

RE:

According to Prusa they should be good up to at least 45 degrees C. https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-user-mods-octoprint-enclosures-nozzles/enclosure-safe-temperature/

Unless you seal off your LACK real good, I don't think there's any chance you'll get to even 40 degrees. I have never it seen go above 36 or 37, printing ASA or PC.

RE:

I got up to 44-45C inside my non sealed Lack enclosure printing PC blend. That was last summer with a room  temp. of 30C aprox.

Right now, in January, even with the bed at 110C inside temp. won't go higher than 35-36C.
