Constant PSU fan whine on MK3s with Raspberry Pi Zero 2W
I've got a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W running OctoPrint installed in my MK3s. It's running very well, and I have no complaints about how it works.
Unfortunately, having this extra current draw means that the printer's power supply fan is running all the time. This would be okay if the fan were running at a constant speed, but it seems to be ramping up and down every few seconds. The noise (when not printing) is quite quiet but very noticeable.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have they found a way to fix this? I'd much rather keep the embedded Raspberry Pi Zero 2W than add an external Raspberry Pi controller.

Hi Scruss,
what power supply do you have.
I have never noticed a fan in either my black, or silver mk3 powersupplies

It has the black psu. And if it's not a fan, it's making a sound a lot like one

Im 99.9% sure the black psu doesent have a fan but I may be wrong. It's probably coil whine how old and how much have you used it.
Please help me out by downloading a model it's free and easy but really helps me out https://www.printables.com/@Hello_474427/models
RE:
Oh dear, your PSU identifies as a FAN... ! never a good option... Have a Stern discussion with it. If that doesn't work, have a discussion with yourself as to whether you want to replace the PSU, or use Earplugs...
Sorry, sad attempt at humour...
If you are adventurous and well aware of safety issues,
you may be able to disconnect the printer from the mains, and check the PSU for loose screws...
