Closed loop motors
I just saw this link posted on the DisplayLayerProgress forums for upgrading 3d printers to use closed loop steppers.
Looks pretty neat. Has anyone considered upgrading the MK3 with these motors. It seems that form a size point of view they should fit pretty easily (even on the Z-axis, although that's probably unnecessary). The issue is probably that the stepper drivers are (as far as I recall, I didn't open it up to check) soldered to the Ainsy board rather than socketed, so it will not be trivial to replace them with the supplied adapters.
I was curious if anyone has considered doing this (or maybe has even done it)? No more layer shifts...
RE: Closed loop motors
Interesting concept but not at all compatible with the Einsy Rambo. You'd have to replace the board with something else.
