RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
Hmmm I don't understand why it won't open. I am reading using Notepad ++.
Can I just copy and paste that text to the bottom of the Octopi.txt file?
I got my Zero 2 W off of Amazon.

RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
I think it is the 1.7.something. I'll try the 1.9.2
RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
Which text do you mean? But I don't think any changes to the octopi.txt are necessary for this. I suspect you used the image version with the old camera stack, that is a bit different and I think you have to add or uncomment something for the camera type. The newer version with the new camera stack does not need this. Please try the new one from the link I posted a few minutes ago. The newer camera stack is supposed to become the version that will be supported in the future, so changing to that is better and recommended anyway.
RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
Ah yes, that could be the reason. The new version is this: OctoPi 1.0.0 with OctoPrint 1.9.2 (build 20230718115729 from branch camera-streamer)
RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
ok...doing it now. Thank you
RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
Amazon prices for Raspberrys have been rather high here if they were available at all (Zero 2 W, I mean). I prefer to buy them from official distributors in my region and they are all out.

RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
The other types you can all get here, but no Zero 2 Ws. I don't need one absolutely and immediately right now, but it would be nice to upgrade my existing projects that use Zero Ws. I still have spares of the bigger ones.

RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
I am in Germany. I use the Zeros for MotionOS, bird feeder cam, nesting box cam, another one is in a cubotino, one is in a pwnagotchi. The Pi4s are for OctoPrint, Pihole, Tiny Pilot KVM, PiKVM. The KVMs are for monitoring and setting up of headless homelab PCs with Proxmox or other headless computers, you can even set up another headless Pi with them. 🙂

RE:
OK ... I install the 1.9.5 and the camera now works. However, I can't get any of the plugins. It says I need to connect octoprint to the internet. I thought I was as I inputed the SSID and password for the wifi? See attached.
What am I missing here?
RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
Hey, nice that the webcam is working now! 🙂
Did you activate the connectivity check in the installation wizard or did you skip it?
Can you log into the pi via ssh? This should work if you can connect via the web interface.
ssh pi@[same ip as in web interface]
RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
Short additional explanation: If you skipped the connectivity check you cannot be sure the Pi has received a valid DNS server address via DHCP. This can be set up during the connectivity check. If the connectivity check is successful, the plugins should be available also.
RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
Are you connecting through web interface ( putting ip into google) or are you going through monitor

RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
I am attaching the connectivity info. I can connect to port 1.1.1.1 but if I type in google.com or youtube, com, it does not connect.
RE: Can't get the webcam to work with Octoprint.
Yes, through web interface. I put ip address into address bar from my laptop,
