Can't get raspberry pi 3 b+ to work with direct wire
No matter what I do, I can't seem to get the raspberry pi 3 b+ to work with my mk3s when it's directly wired. With a wall wart and usb cable it works fine, but I would like to eliminate those for aesthetics if possible.
I connected the pi and mk3s together using this diagram.
I triple checked and tried 2 sets of cables with no luck. I have Rpi enabled on the printer, but I keep getting this message:
"Offline (Error: Could not write to serial port)"
I have no idea how to get around this as I can't find any other solutions with some google searching.
Any ideas on why it won't work? Worst case scenario I use a usb cable again.

Can this work without external power?
I didn't think Einsy could supply as much power as Pi 3 needs?

At least on the pi there isn't any power issues. No lightning bolt of doom, even with a webcam hooked up.

Figured it out, there were some serial changes I had to change on the pi itself.

It would help to explain what you did to make it work ...

Hehe, all I did was actually go through the guide here, word for word.
