Slic3r 1.33.8 - Prusa Edition release
Great, a new version...
And a great new function : layer editing
yeah, slic3R, its a great tool.
BUT ... and if ... maybe ... the future new version of slic3r, allow us to only use slic3r for slicing ?
Why ? Because actually, slic3r is for me, the best slicer, but it s a shit for auto repair model.
When you download a thing on (or whatever) thingiverse, you have one chance in two for obtain a not printable model with slic3r !
And you have to use an another software for repair it, automatically (or manually).
Actually i use Autodesk Meshmixer for fix the bad stl (for slic3r) found on the internet ... export it as stl and able slice it with slic3r !
Look a concret case :
i download a thing on thingiverse, i want print it, i open it in slic3r and bad surprise ... it's not printable ....
i open it in Meshmixer, it warning me the errors (red dots ) :
i use the "repair model" button, and i obtain a fully printable object (slicing) :
now i can print (generate gcode) from Meshmixer, but seriously... meshmixer is a shit .
So i export my model in STL, and re open it in slic3r and now my "thing" is printable :

Just add the "repair" button and you obtain the bester software 😉
