I have same problem, but Slicer is still working.

I have installed latest version of software, but still get fatal error message when loading Prusa Control

File set on Github as of a couple of hours back has cleared Printer Control issue, but Slic3r PE and Pronterface issues remain.

Has not Prusa announced that Prusa Control is no longer being developed?

I recall reading that some of its popular features will be rolled into an updated and expanded product being developed around the Slic3r-PR software framework

The last post in this thread indicates as much, yes. If PC works for what you need, there's not reason not to use it, but I wouldn't expect any updates or fixes at this point.
