Is it possible to set different infil density for different layer?
Hi I am trying to print a big cat model and I wonder Is it possible to set different infil density for different layer? for example I want to set the infill for the Body 10% and for the top part which are the thin ears I want to set the infil to 50-80%. Does Slic3r has such function?
Thanks

I think Slic3r does not give such possibility. Simplify3D does have something like this. It is called multiple processes. Using this, you can set different print settings for specified layers / height of the print.

If you insert a very thin void in the area of the ears. you will get another set of perimeters around the void, which will increase the density in that area
if it's thin enough, the two sides may fill the gap as well.

I think you will find that you can do exactly what you need with "modifiers".

This is a very powerful feature !! I love it. I didn't know this before today. I just used it for a big print where I had to strengthen some little parts. You can do this without a CAD program (to model a modifier) because you can load a generic directly into slic3r (box, slab, cylinder, sphere) and it's possible to move or rotate it exactly where you want.
Thank you PJR and Vojtech 😀
Is it possible to use modifiers to change temperature ? I guess not but perhaps I missed something somewhere ? I know you can modify speed, perimeters, even supports !! but I didn't see temperature.

No, you cannot change the temperature.
You also cannot change the speed, even though Slic3r offers it.
