How to install slic3r prusa edition in Linux

Hello,

I have downloaded and uncompressed the tarball from github. Happens to be this one:

Slic3r-1.37.1-prusa3d-linux64-full-201709141215.tar.bz2

I moved contents to /opt folder and named the folder:

/opt/slic3r-prusa

There is a script in there so I did chmod u+x

That's pretty much where I am stuck and I don't even know if what I've done so far is correct. There is no readme in the folders and there does not seem to be an install script.

I can run slic3r script in the terminal but it just prints out instructions for command line. I am anticipating a gui application with a full set of controls and options for slicing.

I am on Linux Mint 18.0 which is Ubuntu 16.04 based.

thanks!

Mark

PS, I was able to download and run PrusaControl 0.9.3_390_beta but that apparently uses a completely different distribution technology ( AppImage )
