Help rebuilding firmware, please
My goal eventually is to rebuild the firmware with a PT-100 w/amp on the extruder enabled. On the way there, I’m trying and failing to rebuild the released v3.0.12. I start with a fresh installation of Arduino IDE, a fresh clone of prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware, switch to the v3.0.12 tag, follow the instructions in the firmware’s README.md, compile and upload the firmware. All that appears to go fine, but the LCD only shows two rows of solid rectangles. If I upload the precompiled hex file with XLoader, the LCD is fine. Help, please.
Re: Help rebuilding firmware, please
Found more precise instructions here:https:
//github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/issues/29
Same result.
Re: Help rebuilding firmware, please
It sounds like you have the default liquid crystal file still named the same in the library.
I had the same problem for mine but i had 2 arduino ide versions installed and was making changes to one while compiling and flashing in the other by mistake. Plus i found it was a good idea to change your ide to 1.6.8 it might be old info but i found in the forums that its the version that the dev's used to create the firmware
Re: Help rebuilding firmware, please
Been working in that direction - removed all other Arduino IDEs, deleted all old projects, cleaned out as much detritus as I could find, and started over with version 1.6.8. Still no luck. I’ll keep trying to find any now spurious files.
Re: Help rebuilding firmware, please
Pulled out more stuff, but no better result. When I star up Arduino 1.6.8, I’m told some libraries need to be updated. Should I do that, or will that move me past the working version of Arduino IDE?
Re: Help rebuilding firmware, please
😳 Well, that’s embarrassing. Works fine if I build against the correct board, vis., RAMBo. Sorry to waste your time.
Re: Help rebuilding firmware, please
All good glad you got it working
Re: Help rebuilding firmware, please
Hi there,
I'm having the same problem with the blank screen with the two rows of squares. I have downloaded the firmware from https://github.com/aderusha/Get-PrusaFwDevEnv This is apparently a ready to use firmware that is a carbon copy of the factory firmware. I keep hearing about deleting a liquid crystal file but am not sure where or how to do this. Is this something that is deleted in the Marlin program or somewhere else?
Thanks for any help. (I'm getting desperate after chasing my tail for 2 days)
