Github repository

I wonder is someone out there could help me to understand the firmware repository?

At the time of writing, the current firmware is version 3.0.4 beta which was uploaded to this forum by Josef, with the version on the downloads page being 3.0.3.

The Github repository contains 5 branches:

Master
dev
MK2 (Michal)
MK2-bed-calibration (Vojtech)
MK2-BedScewCalibration (Vojtech)

As far as I can tell, all the MK2 branches also contain MK1 firmwares.

Also the firmware versions contained in those MK2 branches are:

MK2: 3.0.1
MK2-bed-calibration: 3.0.4
MK2-BedScewCalibration: 3.0.5 !!!

Now, not everyone wants to use "stock" firmware, so I have downloaded the source code for 3.0.5 (which should be the latest) and compiled for both Mk1 and Mk2 printers.

The Mk2 firmware is faulty, with the bed calibration halting at step 3 during phase 2 and simply returning to the menu. The Mk1 firmware will not compile.

The organisation of the repository is pretty poor. There are no firmware archives easily available. The branches are wrongly labelled and contain code which is faulty and with version numbers which do not correspond with pre-compiled releases.

Is it possible that this could be resolved as a matter of urgency?

Many thanks in advance

Peter

FWIW, I think it would be better to have the branches named after the version primary (i.e. V2, V3 etc) and maybe have sub-branches for the secondary/tertiary.

Re: Github repository

I'd like to second this, i was recently looking through the github as i'd like to add a filament sensor to my Mk2 and the organization of the branches is semi-confusing. I think sorting this out would help everyone, including Prusa3D, as people can provide feedback on tweaks they've made to the firmware on their own in a more organized fashion.
