Can't generate gcode for thin shapes in prusacontrol and slic3r
Hello,
I have a MK3.
I would like to print thin shapes but I can't make it thinner than 0.5mm. When I generate the slices, it doesn't create anything.
It's fine if the shape is 0.5mm large but i get nothing if it is 0.3mm.
I tried with prusacontrol and slic3r.
Here is the link to the STL I would like to print:

Please help me, I bought the printer to be able to make such shapes.
Regards

the standard nozzle is .4mm wide
do you expect it to print narrower?
if you set the nozzle to 0.25mm and use a 0.25mm nozzle
then you should be ok!

this is a 0.3 blade on a disc to stop it falling over
as you can see. Slic3r shows a thin extrusion

Thank you very much for your answer. I confused the size of the nozzle and the thickness of the layer.
Re: Can't generate gcode for thin shapes in prusacontrol and slic3r
checking the box "Print Settings" --> "Layers and perimeters" --> "detect thin walls" (second from the bottom in the block of five checkboxes) might work. I only tried it with a 0,4 mm wall (which was ignored when the box wasn't checked since it's smaller than the default layer width of 0,45 mm for a 0,4 mm nozzle) and it worked. Not sure how low this option goes and the wall will be thicker than defined in the stl but simetimes this helps.

You "could" go into the advanced settings in Slic3r PE and change all of those values to your .3 line width and attempt that to see if it would work. It would probably be attempting it by underextruding slightly, and this is definitely a hacky attempt that might not would work.
On the other hand, I know that everyone likes Slic3r because it's more documented and what not, but I have downloaded the latest version of Cura from Ultimaker's website and have been playing around in all of the available settings there (which is just an absolutely ridiculous amount if I'm honest, more than I have seen on almost anything else). If you wanted to try it out, there is an option in there that should help you out:
Preferences > Configure Cura... > Settings > scroll down to 'Speed' > scroll down to 'Equalize Filament Flow' > check the box > close out of settings
That setting speeds up the print head movement speed to "stretch" the filament into a thinner-than-normal line for you.
Make sure that you find and select that option in the right hand side menu when getting ready to slice your model. All of those configuration settings just add the setting into your regular menu, they don't automatically activate anything. Again, the downside here is getting your settings tweaked again in a new slicer.
