Re: BUG: Color Change - Nozzle Puke

This would be a nice and easy idea, but how can i say to slic3r wich is the first object to use for beginning every layer? In dettail, for every layer change the print mus begin with the "throw away" tower.

Thank you

Re: BUG: Color Change - Nozzle Puke

The problem with the current iteration of the ColorChange is that if the print is at a low point, you cannot always grab the purged filament. I don't have a problem with having to hold on to the filament as it moves back to its job, but its not always possible.

What would be nice is a purge tower the way the multi-material kit does it. However I understand that to do this, extra code would have to be added to the gcode file and it just may not be worth the time to make those changes.

A possible fix for the color change happening at lower levels is to have the Z-axis go up higher when the change point is below a specific threshold. After that threshold it wouldn't matter anylonger. I would recommend going up to at least 50mm as the baseline threshold.

I can also definitely confirm this happens consistently at every color change - whether input manually or using ColorPrint. I have just learned to deal with it and know that I need to be quick and grab that extra couple centimeters extruded immediately after you click "Yes". It would definitely be great to have it resolved though so that I do not need to sit there at the ready to keep it from buggering up my print.
