Weird Clog

I have a bit of a problem with a clog. I have managed to get a clog after the stepper motor, in the little tube that feeds the extruder on my MK2! The annoying thing is that it is before the heater block. The material is PLA and I can’t seem to remove the extruder from the plastic housing without damaging the extruder's plastic assembly. Also, removing the nozzle did not help. To make things worse, the PLA fatigued and broke right at the entrance to the tube.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: Weird Clog

One method is to heat to 180C and then push the stuck filament out through the hot end.

Piano wire is usually used for this, but your local music store will have different steel strings that could suffice.

Poke the nozzle with the actupuncture needle if the filament does not start flowing once 180C is reached.
