Updatig PID values

Is there a way to update the PID settings for the hotend. I just added an E3D hotend sock to insulate the hot end. I suspect this changes the thermal properties of the hotend and that an update to the PID settings would be beneficial. What is the procedure for updating theses settings on the MK2.

Thanks,
Nathan

Be very careful playing with proportional-integral-derivatives, it is not for those that do not understand the maths.

Thanks for the link. My last printer was a Rostock Max V2 which had a PID auto tune routine. I guess the mk2 doesn't have a similar automatic function.

Possibly one of 3 reasons:

1. You have the old style heater blocks 😡
2. You don't need them 😮
3. You are too busy gaming to notice they exist :ugeek:

I have the sock installed and I did not change any PID settings and nothing changed,

What is the benefit behind your PID modification?
