Thermal Runaway

I've been printing a lot of large prints lately and now I get the Thermal Runaway and failed prints routinely. I look on the site, found a article, thought perhaps that the thermistor was loose, and it was a little, tightened, but the issue still persisted. Updated the software to 3.0.9, redid the calibration, one print works, one fails, check the thermistor a little closer and it looks like it needs to be replaced. Replaced it with one from my Mk1 kit, think it is going to work, but it fails. This time, I get to see that the temperature drops, and that the thermistor is reporting the actual temperature, as I hear the motor slip on the filament when it gets to 170C and then the Thermal Runaway is tripped (for time of non response). I'm thinking that the heater element has a short in the wiring or potentially the RAMBO isn't supplying current, any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Thermal Runaway

I have had similar problem ( )
The solution was quite easy: Prusa have sent new extruder with termistor inside.

Re: Thermal Runaway

I've run into the same problem the past week. I couldn't see any problems with the wiring of the thermistor or heater, but my extruder doesn't seem to heat up as well as it did before. So waiting to hear back from support as well.
