Strange Pulley skipping

Hi,

I' m having the strange issue that the extruder pulley does sometimes skip on the filament. This occurs every time when loading filament and there during the "sleep" LCD display mode when the filament gets pulled in fast.

While "loading" is displayed on the LCD there are NO skippings on the pulley. So it only happens when the filament gets pulled in fast.

However sometimes it happens mid print and i don't know why because it should (and it seems to be with visual inspection) get pulled in slowly.

The pulley is rock tight on the shaft and there is no filament in the teeth of the pulley. Also the filament is not stuck or any other way obstructed and it is very easy to pull from the spool. This even happens if i pull out filament and the extruder just has to pull it in..

Of course I also tightened and loosened the idler screws to no effect 🙁

So i'm a bit clueless here .....

Any ideas ?

I think a hotend clean is needed. Could be a small amount of abs in there not getting heated enough if printing in pla or general blockage of old melted filament built up over time.

Re: Strange Pulley skipping

The thing is i cleand the nozzle and it looked empty but still i got these skippings.

For now i print with flex material and did not encounter those anymore. It could be the nozzle or it is the flax who is better at not clogging... I don't know yet.

My guess is that burnt filament inside of the nozzle is responsible...
