Quality problems
I recently completed the build of my i3 mk2s kit. The unit self-tests and calibrates perfectly, reporting no skew. The batman test object prints with excellent quality.
However, the print quality of the castle test object is poor. Specifically, the quality progressively degrades towards the top of the model. The first (base) layer is perfect as is the lower 50% of the print. But, much of the detail on the upper 50% of the object contains defects such as stringer filaments small gouges in the spires, etc. See attached photos.
What are the likely causes and remedial actions?
Re: Quality problems
I had a similar issue a while back it turned out to be the nozzle needed cleaning, it may be your problem.
also you can check the springs on the extrude and the extrude hob pulley to see if there is anything off with it as well.
here is a quick tip video on the hob pulley.
Re: Quality problems
Also, make sure the filament spool is free to rotate, and the filament is not bound.
This seems to be a bigger issue as the spool shrinks in size.
