Pronterface ABS Heatbed Temp dropping after first lines
Hi !
Sorry to have a problem 😉 i am a Newbie...
After building my Prusa3d i3 1.75 Kit, i did my first 5-8 prints with PLA, working well.
But now i have to switch to ABS.
My Tests today weren't successful.
Tehe headbed takes more than 15 Minutes to head up to 100°C. Then
after starting to print the border and a first Line of an object,
the printers heatbed's Temperature was falling continously to under 71 °C,
causing the ongoing print not to attach to the heatbed,
due to missing temperature...
Any help appreciated!
😕
Thanks in advance!
Jens
Re: Pronterface ABS Heatbed Temp dropping after first lines
When you are preparing to generate g-code in slicer make sure you switch filament to ABS , That will turn off the fan that blows air on heatbed which makes the rapid temperature change. Im pretty sure the problem is there. Also make sure you are using ABS juice before every print.

Hi Jens
4 things to check:
1. Make sure the hot bed is the correct way up - The wires and heating element should be uppermost.
2. Ensure that the heater connector is firmly in place in the socket and that the screw terminals are really tight
3. Make sure the part fan (the radial fan at the back) is not running (as Jozef has stated)
4. Ensure the printer is located away from drafts
Hope this helps!
