Printer Freezes, Displays M105 T0
So I will start a print, and it will start just as normal as can be. As the printer is doing its thing, randomly it will just stop printing, display M105 T0 on the little display and just sit there. If I am not watching in that moment, the hot nozzle that close will ruin the print. IF I am watching and I see it stop, I can click on the menu button next to the display and it will just start printing again as if nothing happened.
This is really frustrating and I have no idea what is causing it. I am using Cura to print but that doesnt matter because it does it still when I am printing with Pronterface. I prefer Cura because the prints turn out phenomenally better. However at this point unless I babysit the printer I wont get anything good.
Please help!

Does it happen if you print from a SD card with the USB cable disconnected from the PC?
What firmware version is on your printer?
The text " M105 T0" shown on the printer display is the code the pronterface application sends to the printer to query the nozzle temperature. But I don't have an idea why this should happen.
You may also try to disable the temperature update in pronterface and check, if this helps.
Thanks,

Fortunately, I discovered today that it does not do this when I print from a SD card. So that makes me happy, however I dont use Slicer/Pronterface, I prefer to use Cura because it prints much better. I am not sure where that setting is located within Cura though. I looked but unable to find it.
As far as which firmware I am using, its 2.2.3
Thanks,
Max

It looks as though you may have a communication issue between PC and printer.
Is the PC set to turn off monitor/disk/sleep/hibernate? Is the printer connected to a port on the PC or via a hub? Is power saving enabled on the USB output of the PC (allow computer to turn off this device - or similar)?
Have to say that I gave up using the PC to print models very early on. SD card or Octoprint (or similar) really is the way to go.

Max,

I suppose your printer is the mark 1 model, without the automatic bed leveling, right?
We did not hear much complaints about the mark 1 printers and the firmware, so we concentrated our effort on the MK2 printer firmware We need to make a 3.0.6 build for the mark 1 printer in succession.
Thanks for heads up,

Re: Printer Freezes, Displays M105 T0
Yeah long ago I stopped my pc from going to sleep so that it wouldnt cause an issue. Nor do i have a screen saver. Its just sad that I have to use a SD card all the time, however it works. I just hate band-aid type solutions. I just want it to work as it is supposed to.
Also, it is a MK1 device. I purchased it late last year. If I would have known about the MK2, I probably would have just waited and bought it.
I love my printer and love this company, I just want the thing to work like it should. =/

Take a look at OctoPrint/OctoPi.

What if it's supposed to work from SD instead of PC? 😉
To be honest, I can't see any obvious advantage of printing from PC/USB over printing from SD card. The process is overall the same, the information collected is also the same. There is one big disadvantage of printing from PC/USB - the PC is blocked for this activity exclusively and using it for another purpose at the same time is always a risk. That's why I could not wait to get my MK2 to print from SD finally.
As Peter suggested, if you hate printing from SD card (however I can't imagine why), look at OctoPi, it's a new level, because it brings independence and remote access, but costs some money and risk of another point of failure. You decide.

There is a good reason to not print directly from a PC. A PC operating system is not a real time operating system. There is no assurance, that the system will not stutter time to time, which will influence the print quality badly. For example, uneven print speed will cause pressure differences in the print nozzle, leading to blobs and under-extrusions.
