Print with two filmaents?
Hi,
I'm new here... (MK2S i3)
I want to print with the dissolvable filament for the scaffold. Can I print with two filaments in the one head...? Do I need to get two heads...? Any advice would be welcome.

This is one of the things that the new Multi-Material upgrade is for.
Without that, you can only print one material at a time, which means only one material per layer, which means that your supports must be of the same material as your piece. The multi-color thing you can do with a stock (non-multi-material) printer is to change filaments between layers, but to have soluble supports requires a material change during every layer that has any support material.

No, not quite.
Soluble support material is usually very expensive, so you want to keep its useage down as much as possible and to do that, you would only use it for the interface between main filament support structures and the model - usually about 3 layers. But even so, it's still not realistic to use filament changes.

No, not quite.

Is is possible now to do exactly that? I've always wondered about this.
Printing the majority of the Supports in the same material you print you main object with, and only use the layers it makes contact with the object with Scaffold.
That way the wasting of the very expensive water dissolvable material is minimized.

Yes, I believe that there are settings within Slic3r (I use KISS where there are the settings) to set which extruder to use for particular printed parts (object/raft/support/interface).
But as most models don't have a flat supported layer, I would not want to do it with M600!
