PET sticking too well to Ultem and damaging it
I've been printing a lot with PET recently and have been careful not to clean the plate with IPA.
Some prints seem almost impossible to remove even off a cold plate. I'm using a rounded thin flexible scraper. Sometimes it works, sometimes it actually digs in above second layer.
Despite everything I've manage to tear the ultem and a little 1cm^3 flap is now there. The shop has no stock of Ultem so I'll have to deal with it for now.
I like PET. I like Ultem. But......
Any ideas? Blue tape over the top?

Do contact support via the live chat. They might still have a few PEI sheets in reserve.

Use glue stick as separator for PET or flexible materials.

You can also use just the tiniest bit of baby powder spread across the bed. PET and flexible will stick and then release easily when done. Easier to clean than glue stick.

I've spoken to support and they agree that the PEI needs replacing so will see what they can do...
I'm going to print around the tear for now and try the baby powder idea. It's a bit lateral but makes sense to me. I've also raised the Z height by .01mm for PET.
Baby powder is working REALLY well with PET. 🙂
Thanks all.
