Pause print for second color
Hello Forum,
i want to try a dual color Print in my single extruder prusa mk2s. My goal is, to print one layer in color 1 (for example text) and then print the rest of the design in the second color. So you can clearly read the text on the front. As gcode gerator i use simplify3d.
Should i made 2 STL files and import both, make 2 gcodes and print these. Or can i make one gcode file, the printer stops after first print, moves to an higher Z position, asks me for color change, or i do it manually, and after that it starts to print the left part?
It would be great if you can help me out 😉
Is it possible to show an Message on the LCD? So i can implement this Message in gcode?
Regards
Tim

I have used it one time to print an orange and blue Broncos key chain. Came out really good, but with one hotend you will be limited to color changes depending on the layer you desire the filament changeout to occur. One color per layer.
