No longer working

Hi
Hope someone can help
Got a MK2 kit, assembled it and after a little tweaking it worked fantastically. Really impressed.
10 days later I try some different filament (stainless steel PLA) after using just silver PLA, works brilliantly, some blue PLA, works brilliantly and then some brass PLA and it failed miserably.
Since then I have not been able to get it to print anything. Problems are
1. calibration seems to have gone to pot and seems impossible to achieve
2. First layer does not adhere to bed on models which have printed perfectly before
3. Nozzle gets bunged up with PLA which it never did before
4. Calibration different every time I do it and never seems to hold from model to model
5. Front fan never on (passes selftest)
Could go on and on but don't know where to go from here
Anyone got any ideas 🙁

Re: No longer working

Well after using very abrasive filaments with a brass nozzle, first thing to do is to change the nozzle and don't use those filaments againuntil you fir a hardened steel nozzle.

You will still need a brass nozzle for regular filaments.

Thanks for that, obvious I suppose when you think about it. The stainless I printed was purrfect but the bronze and brass were awful, now everything is awful, guess the stainless did me in.
Other than Prusa, do you know the best place to get these nozzles?
Many thanks PJR

You can either get some in hardened steel ones from E3D directly: http://e3d-online.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=v6%20Extra%20Nozzle%20-%20Hardened%20Steel%20-%201.75mm

Or alternatively have an eye on the MicroSwiss nozzles:
Plated (wear resistand but not as hard as hardened steel): https://store.micro-swiss.com/collections/original-prusa-i3-mk2/products/reprap-m6-thread-e3d-olsson-block-j-head
Hardened Steel: https://store.micro-swiss.com/products/nozzle-a2-reprap-m6-thread-1-75mm-filament-e3d-v5-v6-prusa-i3-mk2

Re: No longer working

but take attention when you change the nozzle ! if heatbreak and nozzle doesn't touch firmly inside the aluminium heater block, you'll get a leaking hotend... which may lead to severe issues.
have a look at tom sanladerer's video about choosing the nozzle and changing it correctly.

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...

Why? I'm using pla+ from Esun and just switched to a hardened nozzle to fix an extrusion problem I thought might be related. What problem will I have?
