New mk2 pre-assembled, stuck filament

I just got my MK2 today, and when I opened it up, it had a piece of black filament already inserted. After initial prep, I turned on the printer and tried to unload the filament. However, the end of the filament inside the extruder had melted a bit and couldn't be pulled out. I then tried to use the load filament function, and then I used the extruder move function to try and push the filament through (by the way, the nozzle was preheated this whole time). It seems to hit a point where it doesn't move much at all, and if I look at the nozzle, I can see a tiny bubble of filament pop out every now and then... but I can't get it through more than that.

What do I do? I've seen people talk about pulling apart the extruder but I don't want to mess with that without a video to follow...

Nevermind. Unfortunately after taking apart the whole extruder+nozzle, I realized you can access the post-stepper filament entry by removing the two spring screws on the side. So I took a tiny hex, put it in the nozzle to heat it up, then put it down the top side and pulled it out after a second - it pulled a long piece of jammed filament out. Leaving this here in case anyone else has the same issue.
