How can you work out how long it will take to print
My husband and I have just received our printer and of course we have been going wild with trying everything. Last night was my turn and I decided to do an earring tree. It was meant to have two parts but I managed to put them into the same file... so off it went and I was thinking this is cool I will see it when I wake up in the morning... ummmm no it was at 35% Well 20hrs later and it is still only at 80%. The tree isnt anything amazing I didnt think and so we are both a bit shocked it is still going.... especially as it has gone into hubbys printing time. How can we tell how long it will take to print a file?
Thanks in advance
Re: How can you work out how long it will take to print
some slicers (like simplify3d) give estimations about the printing time, but they are quite coarse, so if the slicer says "2h" it might be 3 hours as well.
but sometimes the slicer hits the mark quite well.
size of the object, layer height, infill percentage and of course the printing speed settings for perimeters and infill determine the total printing time directly.
so be careful not to choose 0.05mm layer height and 50% infill at a decent large object.
but anyhow, if you and your hubby got the same hobby, it's worth to think about a second printer
dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...
