Hex Screw Size on Heated Bed
Does anyone know what the screw size and standoff size is on the mk2 heated bed. Think after a few 100 hours of pulling prints off the bed its caused the threads on the screw or the standoff to be stripped
anyone have an idea?

Re: Hex Screw Size on Heated Bed
if the threads are damaged in the standoffs, it'll be tricky to replace them.
i guess that's only possible during a replacement of the pei sheet, otherwise you'll get into problems fixing them at the heater-pcb.

Re: Hex Screw Size on Heated Bed
If so: It's a spacer (distance) bolt measuring M3 x 5mm with inside thread.
I replaced all of them with steel ones instead of brass. Didn't have any issues tightening them with 1,1Nm (used a torque wrench) while still having the PEI-sheet on. The screws didn't slip at all. I also replaced the chopper disk between the bolt and the heated bed because with them the bed will never be level. Instead I used one thin (0.1mm) washer per bolt. When I remounted the bed to the carriage I used several thin washers to flatten the bed out using a straightedge.
Re: Hex Screw Size on Heated Bed
The m3x5 screws provided in the kit are too short to start with. I found they barley reached into the standoff and one stripped during assemly. Increased to m3x8 and they tightened up nicely. I may go back and re level the bed with additional spacers as I can see a considerable wave in the bed with a steel rule.
Re: Hex Screw Size on Heated Bed
I also need to replace the hex spacer nuts on my MK2S. I would love to replace them with steel ones. Does anyone have a source for replacement parts? I chatted with Prusa, and they do NOT sell the hex nuts for the MK2 heat bed...
Thank you,
Chris
