Granite Slab for Base?

I have been watching various build vids and it strikes me that having a substantial and flat surface upon which to build and run the printer may be "A Good Idea™". I have a 9"x12"x2" Granite Surface Plate that is flat to within .0001" and weighs 26 lbs. Is this large enough to be the base? I think it's wide enough; is it long enough?

Does it seem to you more experienced folks like this would be a good idea?

Seems like setting that slab on some of that cushioned drawer liner material would make it pretty solid and quiet.

If you need to tune away some of your vibrations and sounds, it doesn't hurt. There are also different kinds of vibration feet that you can test.
i have my printer (with vibration feet) on a pizza stone atm, not sure how much that helps though 🙂

Wide enough but not long enough. Needs to be about 13.5" long.

Well that's a bummer.

They make a 12"x18" but that's $90 and I don't think I need it that bad. I had this one laying around. I may go get a couple pieces of 18" tile and use construction adhesive to glue them together - or maybe sandwich them together with that drawer liner. Sort of a shock-absorber setup.
